The Games Printer Manufacturers Play
All printer manufacturers are in the business of making a profit and so you should consider this when buying a printer at a discount price. You need to ask yourself how good that deal really is. Printer manufactures will make sure they make their profit. Listed below are a number of ways they achieve this. After each money making method is a solution to enable you outsmart the printer manufacturers and beat them at their own game.
The first tactic printer manufacturers use to make profit is through ink toner cartridges. You will find that OEM ink cartridges cost a lot of money and so some people opt to get refill ink cartridges which cost significantly less. Most color print ink cartridges have small color dots on the side which make it easy to identify and refill with the right colors. Manufacturers are very much aware of these indicative color dots and so some of them (not all) mix the color dots so that the dot that indicates red color is really for the yellow color and so you end up with colors in the wrong chamber which results in wasted ink and shoddy prints. The solution to this problem is simply to use different toothpicks to identify the color in each chamber. Do not work on assumption as it will cost you.
The second tactic involves the supposedly free ink toner cartridge that manufacturers give you with the purchase of a printer. You will be surprised to note that most of these “free” ink toner cartridges aren’t full and so after only a few printing jobs they run out forcing you to go back to the manufacturer to purchase brand new expensive cartridges. This is the easiest way manufacturers make their profit because they know a printer cannot function without ink and so by tempting you with the “free” ink you end up running back to them shortly after purchasing your printer. The solution to this tactic is to refuse to purchase their OEM cartridges and instead opt for remanufactured toner cartridge or compatible ones. You should also consider refill ink cartridges as they will save you money.
The final tactic manufacturers use is by staying silent about the popular belief most people have that OEM ink toner cartridges are the best and superior quality as compared to remanufactured toner cartridge and compatible ones. This is an easy belief to accept because it is based on the assumption that the more you pay, the better the quality. As a consumer you will get duped into believing that by paying more for your ink toner cartridges you have gotten the best quality. The solution is shopping around and testing different ink cartridges in order to determine for yourself which is the best.
